For more than 6 Years, Basis Wood Flooring Designs has been operating in the European market. While our main office is located in Berlin, Germany, we are by no means limited to German sales. In fact, only 1/3 of our personnel are German, and all of our sales associates can speak perfect English. Additionally, we have a number of installers we work with in England, Ireland, and Continental Europe, who can represent us there, with no additional difficulty. Thus, we can offer our clients a truly trans-border shopping experience without the hassle of driving through "the Chunnel"!

Additionally, our woods selection is even more global, as we have the advantage of going to market with a wide array of exotic woods, like Afzelia, Bubinga, Cumaru, Eucalyptus, Garapa, Ipe, Iroko, Izombe, Jatoba, Massaranduba, Merbau, Nussbaum, Panga, Sucupira, Tali, Tamarindo, Tatajuba, Tauari, Tigerwood or Wenge. And, given their natural structural makeup, these species are even more suitable for installation as wood flooring, particularly wood floor heating systems. Of course, we closely monitor all relevant details, such as the wood’s humidity and fineness of its cut, which are the two most important factors in dealing with wood flooring.

Our success accrues from our role as the sales team for a sawmill, providing us with access to an unprecedented array of different wood species; and our customers don’t have to pay the salaries for unneccessary middlemen. Three years ago, Basis began in a living room in Berlin, with an IKEA table, one sample set, a telephone, and three laptops. Today, Basis has two stores, is active in many international tradefairs, and is turning a profit with online sales.
